I read Tullock's book in an afternoon after doing some research on the idea of cultivating trees for profit. The author provides a good overview of creating a basic business plan, finding markets, marketing, and planning your efforts for maximum profit and success. Though he covers a lot of material it lacks the level of detail and examples I was hoping for and relies on anecdotal stories or examples. I would have also liked to see more resources provided in the book (specifically in regards to determining and obtaining the appropriate licensing, permits, etc.)Overall the book provides a good starting point of the things you should think about and research for yourself-but nothing that can't be found spending the same amount of time on the internet.
Of course there aren't a lot of places this info is collected, and maybe in the end it isn't so difficult to monetize your gardening... Still, the book felt lightweight to me.

Lots of good information, lots of great ideas, lots of business aspects to think about. It's easy-to-read. You'll have to adjust monetary amounts to current prices in your geographical area, but a good resource none the less! Borrowed this book from the library and had to order it, then from Amazon.
I'm so impressed with this book. So much wonderful information! I started selling my flowers at farmers' markets this summer and this book was a real help.
I am very pleased with this good book about herbs from the backyards. Wish I had more like this item.
